  3. This is a minor revision of my FASTEXIT 1.00 which
  4. you can use it to EXIT or RESTART Windows instantly.
  5. The revision added a feature that it can take a 
  6. command parameter of EXIT or RESTART when it starts,
  7. making it easy to be used in some batch processes 
  8. to EXIT or RESTART Windows. For example, if you run
  9. "fastexit" with a parameter of "exit" (fexit.exe exit),
  10. it will cause Windows to exit right away.  If you run 
  11. it with a parameter of "restart" (fexit.exe restart), 
  12. it will cause Windows to exit and restart.  For more
  13. information about FASTEXIT, read following text.

  18.   FastExit is a small Windows(TM) program developed 
  19. by Ping Huang and James Zheng.  The program is about
  20. 9 KB in file size and requires only 10 KB when running.
  21. FastExit is a handy utility to fast exit or *restart*
  22. Windows instantly without going through many mouse 
  23. clicks and/or key strokes you normally do.  
  24.  
  25.   To fast exit Windows, double-click the icon
  26. with your left mouse button.  To restart Windows, 
  27. double click the icon with your right mouse button. 
  28. If you have unsaved work, it will prompt you
  29. to save the work before you exit or restart Windows.

  31.                --- INSTALLATION ---
  32.  
  33.   The program is mostly useful when it is loaded every 
  34. time Windows starts.  To have Windows load FastExit 1.0
  35. during the startup automatically, follow the steps
  36. below: 
  37.  
  38. (1)  Copy the program (fexit.exe) to any directory on
  39.      your hard disk;
  40.  
  41. (2)  Open win.ini located in your Windows directory 
  42.      using a text editor such as Windows Notepad;
  43.  
  44. (3)  Find the line with "Load= xxxx" and append 
  45.      "fullpath\fexit.exe" to it, here "fullpath" is 
  46.      the full pathname where fexit.exe is located
  47.      (e.g. c:\fexit\fexit.exe);
  48.  
  49. (4)  Restart your Windows.
  50.  
  51. Alternatively, if you are using Windows 3.1, you can add 
  52. fexit.exe to your STARTUP group.  To do this:
  53.  
  54. (1)  Run File Manager and find fexit.exe;
  55.  
  56. (2)  Drag fexit.exe to STARTUP group in Program Manager.
